i'm harsh marar. ms applied data science @ [usc](https://usc.edu), based in los angeles, ca.
i work on data systems that close the gap between raw information
and decisions worth making. right now that means nlp pipelines, ml infrastructure, and data engineering
but the through-line is always: what's the highest-leverage point in this system, and how fast can i reach it.
before grad school, i was doing cancer genomics work at [actrec, tata memorial centre](https://actrec.gov.in/home). that's where i learned what it actually means to build under constraints that matter. you don't ship sloppy work when the downstream is clinical research.
the bioinformatics + data science background is deliberate.
generalists who can go deep where it counts tend to build better
systems than specialists who can't see past their own layer.
looking for early stage technical roles.
